Etiquette

DAoC is an online-game which differs from many others. Some things should be respected to have fun as long as you play this game. Just try to remember that we all play this game for fun and a way to escape from the real world pressures. Our time spent in Camelot should be fun
Last update: 1.3.2002 - data has been collected in guild-forum of GKoG (Lancelot)

Don't try to steal kills.
It sometimes happens that you attack the same monster like others (e.g. Scout fires arrow or Caster finishes spell after another one pulled) - tell the others that you didn't intend to steal a kill and stay back if the monster is not going to attack you.

Don't be angry if someone steals your kills.
If you attack a monster another one attacks shortly afterwards too - accept his/her apology; if no apology follows tell via 'send' that you didn't need help; if the other one is a 'bad boy or girl' leave the location. If you are too hot tempered for that maybe you can tell via 'yell' that you didn't need help (sometimes these bad guys don't like publicity and stop stealing your kills). In every case don't swear or curse. It doesn't help anyone.

Don't make fun of players whos chars are not so high then yours.
We all started someday and invested hard work to come to that position we have right now. Try to help other players - powerleveling for some time, spending equipment or money will help mostly.

Don't be a beggar.
There is no begging-skill in DAoC like in Ultima Online. Therefor don't anger other people by asking for money all the time.

Need before Greed.
Whenever you are grouped and the loot is split don't nerv your comrades with infinite greed. All have other chars and all need items for them. Therefor all chars in the group have priority and if the group finds items specific for one class then this member should get the item right away. Maybe this member can show his gratitute with some coins but this is not a must.

Watch your tongue.
Be aware that we do have minors in our guild, and so please be careful of what is talked about in the guild chat. I, myself, have been guilty of not following this, but upon reflection, have seen the error of my ways. Chat groups can always be made if something more "interesting" is to be discussed :)

Communication is good.
When somebody does good or bad, it is always helpful to let them know. Mentioning the good behaviour will encourage it to continue. Mentioning bad behaviour, actions, ect (constructively) will help it cease. Often, we do not know when we screw up unless we are told. But please be polite in this.

Above all, respect.
If you respect other players, everything else should fall into place.
