Game Update v1.04
[Source Microsoft HALO-page]

Halo Hot-Fix v1.04: The GameSpy Security Hot-Fix for Halo for Windows addresses a rare crash bug that could occur if a malicious individual (hacker) purposely tries to exploit the GameSpy CDKey SDK. This hot-fix changes the version number of Halo for Windows and the Halo for Windows Dedicated Server to v1.04 from v1.031.

DOWNLOAD HOT-FIX v1.04 4.5 MB

RELEASE HISTORY
The Halo Update v1.031 added to the changes from v1.02, providing many options to allow servers to automatically prevent players from repeatedly killing teammates, by setting thresholds for automatic temporary or permanent bans, and limitations to the amount of damage teammates can do to each other. This update also includes a number of other new options and improvements, which are detailed in the v1.04 release notes.

Note: Due to technical changes made for this version, checkpoints saved in previous versions of the game will now load at the beginning of their respective levels; progress through these levels will be reset. It is recommended that you complete your current level, which will unlock the next level, before applying this update.

All updates to the Halo Dedicated Server are documented in the Halo Dedicated Server Readme file, which is available here: Halo Dedicated Server 1.04 Readme

The Halo Update v1.02 added support for multiple instances to our (Bungie) dedicated server, enabling us and the community to roll out many more servers for gamers. Also introduced were client support for RCon (Remote Console), allowing dedicated server operators to have control over their servers running in data centers.

Also available is the Halo for Windows Technical and Performance FAQ, which answers most frequently asked technical questions about Halo for Windows.

Two new patch updates from Bungie are now available as of last week. The Halo Update v1.03 is a key release that provides many features to enhance individual and online game play. Also available is an updated file for Dedicated Server. Please distribute appropriately, this information and links to the patch updates. Thanks.

The Halo for Windows Update v1.03 adds to the changes from 1.02, providing many options to allow servers to automatically prevent players from repeatedly killing teammates, by setting thresholds for automatic temporary or permanent bans, and limitations to the amount of damage teammates can do to each other. This update also includes a number of other new options and improvements, which are detailed in the 1.03 Release Notes located at halo.bungie.net/site/halo/features/hpcreleasenotes.html.

The download can be found at -- download.microsoft.com/download/5/9/9/599ef278-45a7-4cdb-a2e4-a417e7a2ef3e/patch1.0-1.031.exe

Halo for Windows Dedicated Server v1.03: This file is an updated executable for the Dedicated Server, and should be applied to an existing install of the v1.02 Dedicated Server by saving it into the directory where the server was installed, such as C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesHalo Server. Halo-WM in Österreich
